Lufthansa Airbus Question

Does anyone know or have a good guess as to why Lufthansa uses CFM engines on thier A320s and IAE engines on thier A321s? Seems a little wierd.

Hi!

Very interesting what you found. I never realized that so I had to go first to the Photo archive to check that out, and first thing it came to my mind was the fact that probably they used first the CFM's because their A320 where quite old and I don't know if they had already the IAE option, but then I looked to their A319, these are rather new and I found out they have also CFM ones. My personal point is that probably due to the plane beeing quite bigger and they use it in some different routes and also they probably require a different performance they might have requested the IAE engine, perhaps this helps!
